| BANJUP |
| Banjup’s name was derived from surveyor James Oxley, who named 2 water features in the Cockburn area Lake Bangup and Bangdown Swamp. In 1907 when a rail station was constructed nearby the name was amended to Banjupp, considered a correction on the original name, which was used until the mid 1930’s when it was amended to Banjup as it is known today. | | | | Banjup is a rural suburb located South of Perth in the City of Cockburn. Banjup residents enjoy the tranquility of living among the trees on acreage but being close enough to local amenities and schools.
